I have kind of given up trying to post pictures. Maybe it's because my computer is aging and cannot cope with the demands of modern day computing, or maybe it's just personal bad luck, or maybe CITS has been monitoring my nadwidth & feels that I'm using way too much bandwidth & decides to punish me. It could be any of the theories I've put forth, but if any of you guys have any solutions or know what's going on or have experienced similar problems & have come up with something, do let me know at 97650489 or my email (schizoid@singnet.com.sg / junkie2807@yahoo.com.sg / irony33@hotmail.com (you can add me to msn using this email), s8021865f@ntu.edu.sg . I have so many pictures I wanna share with the rest of you.
Anyway I guess it has been a rollercoaster week for me. That explains the domant blog, but I will try to blog as often as my feelings allow me. On Monday, it was the blackest monday I had in a very blue moon. I had 3nos quizzes!!! Wah... That's a first even for me. I deliberately planned my timetable so that I'll have the most 2 nos tutorials a day, but 1 nos quiz was held during lecture. So I guess they'll always find a way to beat the system.
First was Soil Mechanics quiz, which was a breeze because Dr Budi was feeling nice & he set a really easy quiz. Xiaoyen & I couldn't believe how easy it was, but I guess maybe that's beause we studied for it. Up next was Civil Engineering Construction Technnology quiz during the lecture period. It was fairly okie, not as easy as Soil Mechanics but okie. There were 4 nos questions that make up 100 marks, but each question carried uneven weightage. I could answer most of the questions but I left 1 of the question blank as I did not study Bridges, and the whole question was on bridges. Just desserts I guess. Later that week, it turned out that the tutorial I skipped to study for the coming quizzes had a hint on the questions. Sigh. So guys, no matter what, attend your tutorials & lectures faithfully!!! The 3rd was the nail in the coffin. Steel Design. Hah!!! Killer module for many people, same for me too. I had ABSOLUTELY no idea what I was writing during the quiz. Was madly trying to flip through all the tables & design standards & trying to peep at Zhiming tong xue's paper. Guess it's 1 of those exams where you REALLY need to work VERY HARD in order to get a decent grade.
Anyway on Thursday, I had Structures 2 quiz & our dear Dr Edmund Choi decided to set a really difficult question that was not only longer that those he set for his other tutorial class, but it also required some Structures 1 knowledge, which I happy gave him back when I passed that module. Sigh. We all know his quizzes were challenging but we did not expect his standards to fluctuate even among his own classes. Jasmine & I speculated that it was because our class had a few Dean's List students & therefore cannot go easy on them. Sigh. Poor innocent poor students like us. If there was a D-List (Da pao List), I would be on it year after year.
Now it's Saturday afternoon, & feeling horrible as usual. Planning to go watch the England match which starts at 2300hrs. Hope they do not lose again this time, or else I'm not going to support them so much anymore.
Ja neh!!!
