Met mana123 for bbq at his sister's chalet in Downtowneast before heading down to Geroge's for some drinks & to watch the Manchester United vs Blackburn EPL match. Thank goodness for wireless@sg, now Singapore is truly a interconnected nation with internet access at almost every major shopping centre & chill out place. Fern Loft Backpacker Hostel is one of the hotels with the free internet access as part of the Government's initiative to make Singapore a truely wireless nation, where we can take our work & leisure anywhere we want. No coherent thoughts for the time being, under the influence of alcohol & soccer-induced adrenaline.
At the moment, Manchester United has most of the possession but there seems to be a prolem with the strikers converting their chances. Blackburn, being in the bottom half of the table, do not seem to be going down without a fight.
Suddenly it started to drizzle & me & Yuri were in a hurry to keep our Macs so we can shift indoors to escape from the rain. As we were settlling down again, Blackburn scored due to a defensive error!!! %$#@!!@%#^$$$!!!
Wonder how will the game end. Hopefully Man Utd can maintain their 6 points advantage over runner up Chelsea.
Ja neh!!!
Update. Man Utd won 4-1. We are on the way to become Champions again.

World's most expensive car wash & wax
Since I am in the mood, I thought I would share with you guys what a real car wash should be like. However, only if you have a rare sports car or ultra luxurious car. Not recommended for the faint hearted, or normal people like you & mi. The attention to detail is amazing & the quality of the materials is simply the best money can buy. For the other things, there is always Mastercard. Opps. Wonder if they will give me a share of their advertising budget. Maybe they might sue me for mentioning them on my blog.

Herpes Zoster
It has been quite a while since I blogged about anything remotely interesting as time is in rather short supply but I would like to take this opportunity to share what I found out about this medical condition. As usual, I turned to the trusty Wikipedia website for more information & this is what it has to say on the virus that causes it & the signs & symptoms & what is it in general. It is NOT a sexually tramsmitted disease & it IS curable. The old wives tale about shingles is not true although there is some pain & discomfort. Seek treatment early to avoid complications. Pretty much common sense I must say.
I shall not post any pictures on this in case some of you lose your appetite.

300, again
I have seen this movie another time. At 0220hrs in the morning, Orchard Cineleisure. I want to be with a Spartan woman, because only Spartan women give birth to real man. Do you fit the bill? Are you up to the challenge?

My deepest condolences 05
The father of one of my cloest brothers in NTU has passed away suddenly on Friday after suffering a heart attack. It was all so sudden for us to react. Seems like Uncle was healthy, but only on the surface. We have all reached the age where people we know personally are leaving us, as well as the parents of those whom we know personally. Do not take too long to let them know we care for them all this while. It might be too late.
Brother, we are with you through this difficult period of time. If you need me, you know how to find me.
Lastly, take care of your own health.

300
Went to watch a movie with Mana123 & Chameleon at Orchard Cineleisure. It has been quite a while since I last been to this place at such a late hour & memories front the not-so-distant past came flooding back as soon as I set my eyes on the building. Below is a short write up on what this movie is all about, & of course, adapted from one of my favorite websites.
Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller's (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.
This movie has gotten me to think a lot about the implicit messages that lies within the script & also the thoughts & actions of the characters in the movie. Examples would be like the question the Sparta King asked his Queen: "What should I do when it seems like the whole world is against me (in my own words)". The Queen replied: "Do not do what a King should do, or a citizen should do, or what a Man should do, or a Husband, or a Father. Do what a free man should do" (in my own words again)"
I realize one thing. Even a King needs a capable & wise woman to be by his side, to be his Queen. I believe that such a woman is rare but a significant asset to a man's kingdom (career) & his family. The question I pose to you is, does she exist in my world?
In the starting scenes, there are some nudity & tastefully done sex scenes, & there was violence & brutality throughout, but what kept me at the edge of the seat was how the King of Sparta & his best warriors fought so bravely & how strong their belief was. They were not afraid to fail & they know that is they give up, they also give up their kingdom, their family, their way of life. More than often, we are faced with odds stacked against us so high, there seems no end. We should always do what a free man should do. A man free from financial commitments, career commitments, time commitments.
Work like you don't need the money, dance like nobody is watching, love like you have never been hurt, etc.
Go & watch the movie. It left me breatheless, recharged & ready for war. It will have the same impact on you too. My personal guarantee.
Do you want to be the finest warriors this world has ever seen? Or be the commoner that aimlessly walks the earth.
Ja neh!!!

Strawberries
Cunningdevil, Yuri & Yours truely were at Carrefour to get some of the missing ingredients for the family gathering in my home at Tampines. One of the highlights is the chocolate fondue which includes fruits like apples, bananas & strawberries. Another item not to be missed are th mashmallows!!! Yummy.
As we were searching for the strawberries, we cane across two varieties. One of them is from Egypt, there other I have forgotten. The packet on the left is the cheaper variety, which cost around SGD$3 while the packet on the right cost SGD$10!!! You really get what you are paying for. The colours are more radiant, the strawberries are larger & even the packaging makes it more "atas".
In the section where the cheaper strawberries were placed, there were loose strawberries everywhere & open containers as ugly S'poreans opened up the packaging & try to mix & match the better looking strawberries into the container they want to purchase. However in the dearer strawberries section, everything was in order. Sigh. Why do ugly S'poreans behave in this way?
Anyway we bought some of each & throughly enjoyed the strawberries. Another thing to take note. Strawberries spoil really quickly, even when stored in the refrigerator!!!

Scary carpark @ East Point
Drove the Korean Taxi to East Point which is beside Simei MRT station to meet Ellyn of Your True Colours (beauty / facial salon). I used to have my facials done by her, who is a long time friend of my mother & aunt. As I was leaving, I accidentally scraped the left back passenger door onto the sharp protruding corner just before the ERP gantry!!!
OUCH!!!
The architect of this building obviously does not drive. there are sharp protruding corners when there are supposed to be smooth bends, twisty sections when they can be straight, not to mention that it is relatively narrower than most other carparks. Even the carpark at Parkway Parade makes more sense than the one at East Point.
Now I know how come there are so many places where the concrete have fallen off, & there is paint transfer everywhere!!!
I hereby condemn East Point's carpark & the architect responsible for the designing of the carpark. Too heart pain to take pictures of the damaged side & post online.
Drive carefully. I am not saying I am the best driver or the most careful, but do not make things more difficult than they already are by poorly designing stuff.
Grr grr!!!

Cute boy
Was surfing the Stomp website when I came across the English Premier League (EPL) section of Stomp. This little boy is 5 years old & has been converted to a Liverpool fan by his father. I say converted because it is very rare that such a young child would really fathom the passion of choosing an EPL team & sticking with it for life.
If I have a son, I hope he would be as cute as him. I will make buy lots of mini Manchester United jerseys for him to wear. Muahahahaha!!!

Windows Media Player in my blog
I recently added another feature to my blog, which is the Windows Media Player. Now I have music playing in the background while my dearest readers check out my entries. Heez. Special thanks to WMM (you know who you are girl!!!) for sharing her HTML code with me & allowing me to leech her song for the time being. Gosh, when I heard this song for the first time while reading her blog, it made the experience so laid back, so high class, so so different. I have visions of people in suits & revealing dresses, most of them dressed in black, & walking around, being all nice & polite & sipping from cocktails as they nod approvingly while someone speaks with "this kind" of music playing in the background.
Something like a dinner party or a really exclusive lounge.
However, there is no windows media player or music when I accessed the website using my mac. Grr grr!!! I have Windows Media Player on my mac hor!!!
Please give suggestions on which song I should play using this player on the blog. Anybody knows of any good & free file hosting sites? Please recommend!!!
Update, no more high class song. Ah beng songs rawks!!!
Ja neh!!!
